我们可能会很刻意地翻译为“I am talking on the phone." 实际上简单的 on the phone就已经可以表达在打电话。

比如要写一个句子:我昨天晚上和他打电话聊到很晚。

最简洁的句子：

I was on the phone with him until late last night.

越是简单的东西就越体现了地道性。
