朗思写作：C1级别“故事类”作文怎么写？

朗思的C1级别，有一种对想象力要求相当高的写作文体，就是“story”。其出题形式，一般是给定一个句子，以这个句子作为全文第一句话或最后一句话，写出一个故事。 事实上，这个应试作文的“故事”并不要求我们写出小说的质量，只需要基于题目的要求，写一篇记叙文即可。 本文的情节是虚构的，但建议取材于现实生活。基于个人的经历、知识，稍加改编，就可以写出一篇合格的文章。下面这篇文章，就是我基于新冠疫情的背景创作的。Write a story, starting or finishing with the following sentence: “Despite my best effort, he insisted on keeping a blind eye to the problem.” Write between 250 – 300 words. The problem with me and Sid, my husband, began just as the epidemic caused by an unknown virus seemed to ease up. Ever since the outbreak, the town had carried a lockdown right until last week, when a few restaurants, hotels and travel agencies reopened. That was good news in a town where half of the residents are connected with tourism.Owners of a B&B, Sid and I were really delighted to be able to do business after a long and despondent lockdown. We redecorated the gate of our house and placed advertisements online, hoping that soon the tourists, who had vanished for a while, would return soon. I noticed worrying traces, though. There had been no new cases of infection in our town for over a month, but new cases were still being reported in the neighbouring areas, including the city to the south. Many of the citizens there were our patrons. Another thing was the food materials transported from the northern border. Most of the seafoods in our town come from across the borderline, ranging from salmon to king crabs. I just felt uneasy about the seafood unpacked from those container lorries. There, some of the new cases were workers of fishing companies. “No worries, dear” was always Sid’s terse reply to my concerns. He talked about how the virus would not infect marine animals. “What about the customers from the south?” I asked.“Well, you know we have set everything straight for protection,” answer Sid, with a light tone. “Anyway, I want to take seafood off from our menu.” “Then we’ll lose half of our income. You know, most tourists come here only for our steamed lobsters and salmon fillets.” Despite my best effort, he insisted on keeping a blind eye to the problem.
