The Summer Palace: A Hidden Gem in Beijing
One place I really enjoy in Beijing is the Summer Palace. It's a stunning blend of historical architecture, scenic gardens, and tranquil waters. I'm drawn to its beauty and the rich history it offers. It's like stepping back in time!
I usually go to the Summer Palace during weekends or school holidays, when I have plenty of time to explore. My favourite activity is strolling along the Long Corridor, a stunning painted walkway that is filled with traditional Chinese scenes.
This place is definitely popular, not only with the locals but also with tourists from around the world. Everyone comes to admire its grandeur, learn about China's past and enjoy a peaceful escape from the bustling city. Despite its popularity, there are still quiet corners to be found if you know where to look!
The Summer Palace truly is a treasure in Beijing, and I feel fortunate to have it right in my backyard. I encourage everyone to visit and discover its wonders for themselves!

My favorite part is Mutianyu, less crowded and beautifully preserved. From the top, you can witness the wall snaking off into the distance - a sight that always leaves me in awe.
